SULPHUR, LA – A motorcyclist died Wednesday after colliding with an SUV on a roadway in central Calcasieu Parish, reports KPLC 7 News. Police say the incident happened in the morning near PT’s Snowballs, Coffee, and Ice Cream on Maplewood Drive. The investigation thus far suggests that the southbound motorcyclist struck an SUV as it turned onto Maplewood. The force of the collision threw the motorcyclist from his bike. VINTON, LA – A single-vehicle crash involving an overturned crane in central Calcasieu Parish Wednesday morning caused only minor injuries, 7 KPLC News reports. Police say the accident happened before 7 a.m. on I-10 East near Mile Marker 5. The overturned crane blocked both lanes of eastbound traffic. Iowa, LA – A 39-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car and killed just west of Iowa on Saturday night, reports KPLC 7. Police were called to the scene around 11PM on the westbound lane of the South Frontage Road. Authorities have identified the pedestrian as Tonya Morgan Young of Elton, LA.
