Man, 64, dead after crashing his Ford truck into tree in Kentwood

KENTWOOD, LA – A 64-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and died after his car hit a tree on LA 1054 Sunday. Single-vehicle crash kills 1 on LA-1054 in Tangipahoa Parish

INDEPENDENCE, LA – Police are investigating a single-vehicle collision that killed a 22-year-old man from Loranger on Saturday night in Independence. WAFB 9 reports that the incident happened just after 11:30 p.m. on LA-1054 near Clement Road. The preliminary investigation suggests that a southbound 2009 Toyota Yaris veered off the highway and crashed into a cement culvert. TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA – A 35-year-old woman died Monday morning when her vehicle collided with a pickup truck on a highway between Wilmer and Kentwood, reports WGNO News. Police say the incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 440 and Louisiana Highway 1061. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Ford F-150 failed to remain stopped at a stop sign and crashed into an eastbound Jeep Wrangler on Louisiana Highway 440. HAMMOND, LA – A 35-year-old woman died after her car collided with a tractor-trailer on I-12 in Tangipahoa Parish on Tuesday morning, The Advocate Reports.  State police say the accident happened around 8 a.m. when a westbound 2004 Nissan Pathfinder crashed into the rear of a 2010 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. Car Hits, Kills Bicyclist in Tangipahoa Parish

TICKFAW, LA – A 24-year-old bicyclist was killed near Tickfaw when a car struck him from behind last Thursday, AN17 reports. State police responded to the accident on LA-1064 near Durbin Road just after 9:15 p.m. Authorities say the bicyclist, whom they’ve identified as Roux Louis Smith-Green, was hit from behind by a 2014 Nissan Altima as both parties were traveling west on LA-1064. Smith-Green died at the scene of the crash. Police say he was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the Nissan did not sustain any injuries.
