Woman, 29, dead after getting hit by pickup truck in Prairieville

ASCENSION PARISH, LA – A 29-year-old woman was left dead after a car versus pedestrian crash in Prairieville Tuesday night. The collision happened around 10:30 p.m., WAFB reported. The pedestrian, who was identified as Allie Braud, was crossing US 61 South when she was hit by an F-150 pickup truck. It is unclear if the pickup truck driver was impaired or influenced by alcohol. The driver was wearing a seatbelt. Braud succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No further details are available. GONZALES, LA – A 20-year-old motorcyclist died, and his passenger went to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision in central Ascension Parish on Tuesday, reports WAFB 9. Police say the incident happened just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of LA-931, or Germany Road, and LA-44. PRAIRIEVILLE, LA – A 61-year-old man died Saturday night when his bicycle collided with two vehicles on a highway in Prairieville, reports Pelican Post News. Police say the incident happened just after 9:00 p.m. when a northbound 2006 Toyota Camry struck the victim’s bicycle as the victim turned from a private drive onto US-61 just south of LA-73. GEISMAR, LA- A 36-year-old man died when his car collided head-on with an 18-wheeler in Ascension Parish on Wednesday night. WAFB 9 reports that the crash occurred just after 10:30 p.m. on LA 30 near Copperhead Road. Police say the victim’s 2020 Chevrolet Impala veered out of the westbound lane of LA 30 and crashed into an eastbound tractor-trailer. The Impala caught fire immediately after the collision.
