Narrative
WESTWEGO, LA – A 36-year-old man died, and one person was hurt Tuesday in a fiery tw0-vehicle crash in Westwego.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Westbank Expressway and Beechgrove Boulevard, which is at the northwest end of Bayou Segnette State Park.
Police say the driver of a westbound 2007 Infiniti M35 neglected a red light and entered the path of a 2011 Honda CR-V. The Infiniti then hit a concrete sign, travelled into a ditch, and caught fire.
The driver of the Infiniti, identified as Lance Marshall, died at the scene.
Medics transported a passenger from the Infiniti to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Nobody in the Honda was hurt.
