Narrative
SCOTT, LA – One person died, and two people sustained injuries in a wrong-way collision along the interstate in Scott on Memorial Day.
The accident happened just before 3 a.m. just west of LA-93 on I-10. This is on the northwest side of the city, just south of Our Lady of Lourdes Emergency Center.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a westbound Dodge Charger entered the eastbound side of I-10 and collided with an eastbound pickup truck and sedan. Two additional eastbound vehicles also became involved in the crash.
The unrestrained wrong-way driver died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their name to the public.
Medics transported two other victims to an area hospital with moderate injuries.
