Narrative
STERLINGTON, LA – A 50-year-old woman died Monday night after a wrong-way collision involving three vehicles along the highway in northern Ouachita Parish.
The incident happened just after 9 p.m. on LA-2 near US-165 in central Sterlington.
Police say the victim’s westbound vehicle collided head-on with an eastbound Mustang while attempting to pass a Volvo. The force of the collision caused the wrong-way vehicle to re-enter the westbound side of the road and hit the Volvo.
The unrestrained driver of the wrong-way vehicle, identified as Shuan Washington of Bastrop, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Volvo did not sustained in juries in the accident.
Medics transported the two occupants of the Mustang to the hospital with moderate injuries.
