Narrative
COVINGTON, LA – A 25-year-old man died Friday morning after a two-vehicle accident along the highway in southwestern St. Tammy Parish.
Crews responded to the crash just after 10:15 a.m. on LA-21 near LA-1083, which is on the northeast side of Covington near Waldheim.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a northbound 2016 Chevy Cruze entered the southbound lane of LA-21 and crashed head-on with a southbound 2010 Chevy Silverado.
Medics transported both drivers to the hospital. The driver of the Chevy Cruze, identified as Jonathan Brister died after transport from injuries sustained in the accident.
Officials described the other driver’s injuries as “moderate.”
A full investigation is underway.
