Narrative
MONTEGUT, LA – A seven-year-old boy died Thursday after a school bus struck him along the highway in Montegut.
The accident occurred after school around 4 p.m. in the 500 block of LA-665, which is just east of Montegut Road.
Police say that a Terrebonne Parish school bus let the victim and other students off at a bus stop. Then, for unknown reasons, the bus struck the student along the southbound side of the highway.
Medics transported the boy to a local hospital, where he soon died from his injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
