ACADIA PARISH, LA – A 40-year-old woman died early Tuesday morning when her vehicle collided with another on a highway near Crowley, reports KATC 3.
Police say the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. when a northbound car veered into the southbound lane of LA-13 and collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The unrestrained driver of the car, identified as Latashi Eddy, died at the scene of the accident.
A passenger from the car went to the hospital with critical injuries. Authorities say this person was properly restrained at the time of the accident.
Medics transported the driver of the pickup truck to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation with law-enforcement.
